I've been thinking about my return to Canada and returning to some much-needed gaming.

Now, I have an Xbox360 connected to a pretty shitty looking 40'' flat screen CRT. It has 1080p (aupposedly?) and it was free. Made it look ok when I screwed around with the Movie settings, so the image didn't seem so burned out. In terms of gaming, it does the trick. Nothing fantastic (no HDMI to boot) but nothing sub-par either.

So my option would be to either pick up a few xbox titles (along with xbox live) that I've missed and game that way, or go back to my roots and get a new PC running.

I'm not really sure what the state of PC gaming is right now and I'm really out of the loop when it comes to hardware options/future tech.

In terms of Comps I would only have 2:

1. My laptop (good for web browsing, video playback and playing games on horrible settings)
2. My old computer I built almost 7 years ago for the release of HL2. It's still up and running but my laptop can easily outperform it.

What do you guys think? Discuss!

what's your budget? I would say both a PC and a console would be ideal.

But it seems like games lean more and more towards consoles, so you could stick with that if you didn't want to drop a wad on a new gaming PC.

Well I don't know how much I should spend.

I remember talking about this with Burn last year (I decided against it since I wouldn't be able to use the PC for almost a year) and it seemed the biggest bang for the buck was around $1500 - $1650

What do you suggest? I heard DX11 is coming out - worth the wait?

PC gaming is all but dead really. Only MMO's to play besides anything released by Valve. I'm sure you can build the necessary rig for $800.

So an $800 rig should be able to handle MMO's well with good graphics?
