Yeah, but are they no longer necessary for high-end graphics? Or are they only for the ultra settings?

Honestly if you dont plan on going straight PC then dont waste your money. I play COD4 and WoW from time to time with my bro but other than that i think the gaming side of computers kinda nose dived with the economy. Oh and that dawn mobsters 2 for facebook, that fucker is addicting lol

I'm not positive about that card

Somone else might be able to tell you whether it's competent for max settings today.

You may want to spring for a ~200 dollar card

Like the Nvidia GTX260 - I can vouch for this card it's a beast.

Well I don't know how much I should spend.

I remember talking about this with Burn last year (I decided against it since I wouldn't be able to use the PC for almost a year) and it seemed the biggest bang for the buck was around $1500 - $1650

What do you suggest? I heard DX11 is coming out - worth the wait?

Hey hey HEY, I had you at 850$ but you were the one that went balls out with the GFX card and Processor .

As for PC gaming, Yeah its pretty much dead. Only thing worth getting for PC IMHO is Starcraft2 and Diablo 3...Maybe even Command and Conquer.

Once you get out of the PC vs Console debate, its really a no brainer.... even our beloved shooters are viable on a console now, and that hurts to say, But i have accepted it and moved onto consoles and my 1400$ rig last year is now an email/ newsleecher station.... Now, If i could only get my TH2GO work with a console......

I still do most of my gaming on PC. I'm associated with a couple of clans that are made up of guys in my age range. they all still compete to have the best rig, what with water cooling for everything from the CPU to the RAM and vid cards. comp gaming is dying because the game companies are trying to push us out. it'll be a while before we're completely done.

also, I'm running an i7 920 oc'ed to 4.2 GHz on air with 6 Gb of RAM at 1600 MHz and two 280's in SLI. I think my system is about the best balance between performance and cost.

I just built some Core i7's for the office. 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drives, GTX 260's for video and windows 7. They were around $900. Great machines.

I think Canada should deny your re-entry.
